Temporary Rockford Casino Closes its Doors ahead of New Hard Rock Casino Opening
The temporary Casino, situated at 610 N. Bell School Road in Rockford, Illinois, has officially closed its doors today Monday August 12 at 5 a.m, to make way for the grand opening of the greatly awaited Hard Rock Rockford, which will take place on Thursday August 29.
Since opening in November 2021, the temporary Rockford Casino, operated by Hard Rock, provided a taste of what the upcoming Hard Rock Casino Rockford will offer. The temporary facility, known as Rockford Casino: A Hard Rock Opening Act, featured over 600 slot machines, table games, and a casual dining venue, drawing visitors from across the region.
To commemorate the temporary casino’s final day, the last jackpot was doubled on Monday morning. As a result, the $3,000 Lourdes Jaime won turned into $6,000. Additionally, she received tickets to see Brad Paisley on Sunday, Sept. 1, at the new Hard Rock Live.

The closure of the temporary Rockford Casino marks a significant step forward in the transition to the permanent Hard Rock Casino. The new casino promises to be a game-changer for the Rockford area, featuring a state-of-the-art gaming floor, multiple dining options, live entertainment venues, and a Hard Rock Cafe. The $310 million project is expected to create hundreds of jobs and boost the local economy.
The new world-class casino will feature nearly 1,300 slot machines, 50 live table games including poker, a sports book, multiple food and beverage offerings, shopping, and Hard Rock Live, where the highest level of entertainment will make waves across the Midwest.
As the community eagerly awaits the official opening, the closure of the temporary Rockford Casino signals the end of one chapter and the beginning of an exciting new era for Rockford’s entertainment landscape.
