The 3 best bets for Week 1

*Analysis made on September 4th*

Moneyline pick: Browns (+115)

Although the Bengals are coming off a 12-4 regular season that allowed them to play the Championship game in 2022 and the Browns from a complete opposite 7-10 season where they finished last, I strongly believe the Browns will still come out victorious in the Battle of Ohio.

The Browns have won 5 of the last 6 games against their state neighbors, and the Bengals don’t know what it is like to win at Cleveland since 2017, which is why I can perfectly see the Browns starting the 2023 season with a 1-0 record, even if that means “upsetting” the current NFC North champions.

Spread pick: Commanders -7 (-110)

This season, the Arizona Cardinals are expected to rank among the NFL’s weakest teams, and in addition to that, they will have to start without their quarterback, Kyler Murray, who is sidelined with a knee injury for at least the first month of the season. That means the Cards will have to resort to a backup quarterback for week 1, a backup who remains uncertain just 6 days away from the matchup.

Besides, the Commanders are looking like a solid team that may not be strong enough to win the NFC East, but that can certainly do damage week in and week out, which is why I see them comfortably covering the -7 spread against, possibly, the worst team in the league.

Over/under pick: Dolphins at Chargers 51 (-110)

This game could very well be a scoring fest classic, mainly because neither team has a great defense and they both are loaded on offense, so everything about this matchup screams over.
