New $780M casino-hotel set to open its doors in Las Vegas by November

Scheduled for November 20, right after the Las Vegas Grand Prix, the grand unveiling of Durango Casino and Hotel is eagerly awaited, marking a significant milestone in the city’s entertainment landscape.

Situated southwest of the city, adjacent to the I-215 beltway at Durango Drive, the construction of Durango Hotel and Casino stands as a testament to the merging of innovation, entertainment, and opulence in the heart of a bustling city like it is Las vegas.

It is safe to say that this visionary project is not just a structure of bricks and mortar; it’s a realization of a dream to create a destination that delights visitors from near and far, and that brings a new level of sophistication to the local casino scene.

Features of the new multimillion hotel-casino

Spread across 50 acres on the property’s eastern flank, Durango’s construction unfolds in tandem with a residential developer’s acquisition of the remaining land, earmarked for forthcoming apartment projects.

Spearheaded by the Friedmutter Group, the architectural blueprint draws inspiration from the mesmerizing desert landscapes that have birthed iconic establishments like the Red Rock Resort.

Within the expansive Durango, a sprawling casino extending across 83,178 square feet (7,727.5 m2) takes center stage, housing a sportsbook that cleverly integrates indoor and outdoor spaces.

In addition to this there will be a quartet of standalone restaurants, featuring an enticing Mexican culinary haven, and notably, Lettuce Entertain You Enterprises will debut the California-themed Summer House, marking a significant expansion for the company, particularly its first venture off the Strip.

Moreover, Durango’s opulent offerings span beyond gaming and dining, encompassing 20,000 square feet (1,900 m2) of versatile convention space, an event lawn destined to host vibrant gatherings, and an eco-conscious stance with 40 electric vehicle charging stations.

The towering emblem of Durango’s accommodation facet is its 216-foot tower, a host to 211 lavishly appointed rooms. Casting a vision into the future, a second construction phase looms on the horizon, promising a symmetrical twin of equal height to the existing tower, welcoming an additional 241 rooms to its embrace.
